The refs made the correct call on the 24 second violation, its very clear given a frontal camera angle.
One possession would not have changed the outcome of this game…the Lakers lost by 2 possessions.
The commentators actually seemed to think that the refs had made the wrong call
How does it help the ratings to widen the point spread by helping the team that is ahead?

The Lakers had twice as many ft’s as the celtics did. To suggest that the refs were biased against the lakers during game 5 is to ignore all evidence. The lakers had more free throw attempts and more free throw makes, they lost because they were the inferior team on the night. Not because of some imaginary bias against them.

The referees are really bad. Boston is getting all the calls in their favor. Imagine for a second if the referees called a 24 seconds violation at the end of game 5; that could have changed the outcome of the game, but no. It’s better for the ratings and it’s better that the ABC commentators don’t talk about bad calls.

I think that the MNA has some major issues that are out there. I am not sure how much to believe. All sports writers are going to try and bury this guy, but I think much of the things he writes about are true. How can the refereeing be so bad in the NBA?
I read the blog from Bon V and how can all that be fact and the NBA not be aware of it? You can spin stats anyway you want if you have the time to do it.

It is disconcerting when I see one team’s play and shot calls ignored suggesting there is biasness toward the other team. Although both teams are good, anyone watching the Sunday night game could see the Celtics made several bad plays (fouls, etc.) that the referees failed to call out or would call it against the Lakers giving the Celtics an unfair advantage over the Lakers that led toward an upsetting win. We need referee who serves and officiate each game and the plays unbiasely so it does not appear the game is rigged. Let’s see how the referees officiate in LA.

No, what he means by “If we graded the [NBA Finals] broadcast according to how well it fulfilled Mr. Stern’s demands, I’d give ABC an A-plus.” is the game going to 7 games. Marc Jackson just said every broadcaster wants it to go to 7 games.

Donaghy is a crappy individual. He’s a big fat liar and everybody who actually bothered to check his claims knows it. And he’s the same guy who cheated on his SAT test. Enough said about the man’s credibility.

LMFAO. Looks to me the broadcasting team, in particular Jeff Van Gundy, has not been particular kind to the referees. So Donaghy, once again, is lying.
He needs to spend the rest of his life in jail. He sure is showing a great deal of respect to the sport that helped give his family a nice life..well, until he started gambling, that is.
