Both teams play great basketball but the Lakers have an edge. The big difference is that the Lakers don’t act like a bunch of idiotic barbarians when they make a good play or making a basket with a foul attached. (pun intended) The one quality I appreciate about the Lakers is that they are humble, poised players. Not to mention that Doc Rivers, a major hater, called Derek Fisher a flopper. Before he makes more bone-headed comments, maybe he should take a look at Derek’s history with the Lakers. He’s known for making game winning shots, multiple times. Maybe Doc needs to re-evaluate his bench players before calling out Derek. (with that being said, I meant evaluate more than 1 exceptional game). Phil Jackson is a much better coach, case in point, his leadership of the Bulls years back, and now with the Lakers.
Bottom line is class and poise go a long way. Celtics and their fans can take note from the Lakers and their fans!

Unless of course, Stern wants a rubber match series next year between the two.
Boston’s speed will be too much for an old,slow team like the Lakers. Boston rolled through better teams like Miami, Cleveland and Orlando, while LA had issues with OK City and Phoenix.
Boston will improve to 10-2 against the Lakers in the Finals.

Kobe’s old, Fisher’s old,Gasol is softer than butter.
The entire Celtics roster man to man is better including the bench.

loll…orlando wasnt the same team without turkaloo…and comparing kobe to lebron is silly…one has 4 rings..the other has 0 rings….cleveland was overrated all year long…steve nash torched the lakers because we let him…we let him score but shut down ths other players…the suns are sitting at home watching…i will be at the laker parade next week when we win game 6 at home…cant wait to attend my 10th parade in downtown los angeles..besides…werent all the experts at the beginning of the season saying the spurs would beat the lakers…bahhhahhhhahhhaa

Lakers in 6 games though 5 would be sweeter to watch as the Lakers could wipe away that ugly feeling from two years ago watching the Celts get the title on their home floor. The Lakers didn’t hit their playoff speed until game 5 of the Thunder series. Nope Air Kobe is just too great to be stopped this year now that he’s found the bounce in his step and his shooting eye is deadly once again. The Ancient Celtics just won’t be able to keep up with the Lakers height and speed over a series. As long as Bynum can play the Lakers Bigs will keep the Boston Bigs in foul trouble.

It’s funny after beating Orlando (who pummelled two previous opponents), Orlando’s offense is “delicate” according to Rob Mahoney. Orlando’s offense is exactly as it was during the regular season and last post-season: Dwight Howard inside, Jameer Nelson in pick ‘n rolls and a bevy of three-point shooters. Boston was just really good at covering the three-point line and holding their own against Howard one-on-one.
The entire Lakers’ offense runs through Kobe or Gasol. The Lakers’ offense is “delicate” too if you can get Gasol out of his comfort zone and make Kobe a volume shooter. All of their role players feed off their activity. Nobody else on the Lakers creates their own shot.
L.A. can certainly win this series for a lot of reasons, but the reasons these writers give don’t make any sense. Lebron was the best player on the floor in the Cleveland series. You’re gonna use the Kobe-is-the-best-player-on-the-floor argument in this series??
If L.A. wins, it’s because Bynum holds up, they use their frontline effectively, and their team chemistry and toughness is superior to Boston’s.

Kirilenko had a neglible impact after missing several weeks and then jumping in Game 3 of the series. In any event, writers love getting into all these individual matchups and comparisons at every position. Yeah, they beat Steve Nash, but he torched the Lakers. Yeah, they beat Deron Williams, but he was the most effective player on the Jazz. Amare Stoudemire turned in a pretty good series. At the end of the day, who cares? It’s about team matchups. It’s the team matchup the Celtics cause problems for the Lakers.
All of these comparisons are silly. They didn’t have Artest in ’08. Fine, but Rajon Rondo was also a non-factor in ’08. The Celtics don’t have James Posey. Fine, they play defense by committee. The Celtics had homecourt advantage in ’08. Fine, but their road record is better than their home record this season. Matt Moore’s logic is ridiculous.
I am going against the Laker bandwagon and am taking the Celtics in 6.
If the Lakers win, I think John Krolik’s analysis is the most convincing.
