@bmcchgo are you insane? why wouldnt either of them fit in with the bulls. The bulls need a shooting guard to spread the floor, they will trade Deng for nothing but a second round pick to ensure themselves of getting two free agents. If Lebron doesnt sign then they will be able to get Joe Johnson and Bosh or boozer. But to say that lebron and johnson dont fit you are crazy.

@Zach. We will see hundred’s of these stories in the coming 6-8 weeks which are nothing more than journalists and reporters speculating on how teams can improve in drastic measures to lure Lebron.
The problem is it takes two to tango, and as previously mentioned, there is no logical reason for the Cavs to trade Lebron. Some may argue they should get something for him leaving (even if that something is over priced and won’t lead to much success on the Court). I disagree. If Lebron leaves the Cavs have to blow it up and start over. That means following the OKC blue print for a number of years; not trading for over priced veterans.

I have to agree with Jim. Why would the Cavs sign and trade for Luol Deng or any other slightly above average player? It doesn’t make sense on any level: basketball (won’t get that much better), business (take on a bad contract), or PR (if LeBron wants to go make him take the $30m pay cut).
I am open to here reasons why they would do it though.

I remember the last time an agent and Bull’s owner Jerry Reinsdorf were ‘tight’ and we ended up with the bad experiment that was Ben Wallace. He spent most of his tenure in Chicago wishing he was back in Detroit.
Have fun with all your speculation Kurt, but there’s no fit for LeBron or Joe Johnson. We’ve got our eye on Bosch and a cheap head coach to be named later.

Sorry to point out the obvious (and shatter some newsreporters theory) but why in the world would the Cavs sign and trade Lebron? And why would they do it for the overpriced Deng? If Lebron leaves, its going to be because he signed somewhere else as a free agent, not because he was traded. That would be a PR nightmare of epic proportions and likely doom the Cavs in the Cleve.
Secondly, even if the Cavs would consider a sign and trade, why woudl they want Deng? Sure, he’s a solid player but terribly overpriced. If the Cavs lose Lebron they aren’t going to want to settle for the 8th seed in the East. They are going to want to rebuild. Without Lebron’s salary against the cap, the Cavs would actually have 15+ million to spend.
