How come everyone thinks the jazz won’t pay the luxury tax? They did last year and their president and gm both said they intend to again

I totally agree with Phil Jackson reply to comment from DCLAKERFAN, 100%. Boozer is a poor defender and is not worth the money they are paying him.

You can’t win a championship with Boozer starting. Sure the lakers could bring him off the bench, but that would never work salary wise.
Boozer is awful at defense, like truly terrible. He messes up the Jazz’s rotations all the time making other players look bad. He can’t contest shots at all, shoots way too many jumpers (he had 15 pts on 16 shots, millsap had 14 pts on 6 shots) and generally lets whomever he is guarding do whatever they want.
Its a miracle the Jazz have made every game this close considering how bad Boozer is at defense (and that he plays center for long stretches…. gasp).
