Not gonna lie, I thought the Sheed signing was a good move that would bolster their front line for 10-15 minutes a night and spread the floor. Even the people who thought the signing was bad, who would’ve predicted his defense would be such a liability?

Does everyone forget the the C’s players begged Sheed to join… playes in the league know better than any of us who can still play. The probem is they recruited Sheed at the end of last season and not at the beginning of this one when he showed-up with man-boobs and a beer gut.
DA cannot be faulted for this move (well, maybe the 3rd year but they would not have gotten hom w.out.) The issue was Sheed showing-up horribly out-of-shape and now it is Doc. He has to take Sheed out of the rotation.

Sheed has been freaking worthless for five years. And I am a Pistons fan, so I know.
He played OK in Spring 2004 after being acquired by the Pistons because he was on the jagged edge of getting waived out of the league.
Since then he has been the same lazy, selfish, stupid, back-stabbing, coach-killing (he tanked TWO Pistons coaches, Saunders and Curry) screw-loose whack job he was in Portland before they dumped him. His mental lapses and defensive breakdowns were HUGE factors in catastrophic Pistons playoff losses virtually every season since then.
Who can forget his immortal performance against the Cavs when, in a close game with 6 minutes left, he goes berzerk, gets thrown out of the game, 2 technicals, the Cavs convert, bang-bang the game is over they win by 15.
This media-fueled idiocy that Sheed is a “proven winner” is just plain delusion. He has helped a team win for exactly 12 weeks in his 15-year career. That’s it. Other than that he is a cancer who takes your team down in flames.
The Celtics certainly should have known all this, so it is coming as no surprise.
If Doc Rivers is smart he will tell Sheed to take a long walk on a short pier. Otherwise he will end up like Saunders and Curry.

Rasheed has been the biggest BUST!!! As a Celtics fan, I am perplexed as to why the celtics would offer Rasheed a 3 year deal. I wonder if they even worked him out to see if he still had game left because I don’t see it. He is actually a liability more than a plus for the C’s. I simply believe that he has no more talent and it’s not just lack of effort.

Thank God he decided to pass on the Spurs and sign with the Celtics. I always knew that McDyess was a better fit and a player than Sheed.

Doc’s right – Celtics need 10-12 quality post play out of Rasheed. It’s sad to see this once feared post player merly a shell of his former self. No defense. No jump shot. It’s sickening.
