The Nuggets defense seemed much more active last year, as was scrambling for rebounds and loose balls. Not having Coach Karl has clearly affected the mindset and play of this squad. Utah is clearly banged up, but so is Denver with Anderson and Martin hobbled by bad wheels and Nene possibly out for the series. This just underscores what a grueling grind the regular season is, topped off by a playoff scheme that is itself equivalent to an entire college basketball season
