LeBron James loves him some Chicago

Apr 21, 2010, 3:40 PM EDT

LeBron James is not playing Joakim Noah’s game.

Not just on the court, where LeBron’s game is several notches above (no offense to Noah, who has proven to be a quality player, but LeBron’s game is several notches above all but a couple guys). But off it as well.

LeBron is not going to be insulting another city.

“It’s an awesome city. Great restaurants, great shopping,” said James, who spent three summers in Chicago while in high school working out at Michael Jordan’s facility. “I have nothing bad (to say) about Chicago, and I’m not saying that because of what he said about Cleveland. I’m dead serious. We all love Chicago.”

Because every time LeBron says anything it is somehow spun into a hit about his plans this summer — Chicago does have room for a max salary! — he said he also loves Cleveland and Akron. He may have thrown in Cuyahoga Falls and Willoughby as well, who knows.

But he’s right about this — there is a lot to love about Chicago. Everything, really, except the wind whipping through downtown in February.

  1. LeBron Loves Chicago - Joakim Noah is Jealous - Apr 21, 2010 at 7:32 PM

LeBron is a class act, even when he’s having fun, he is mature beyond his years, something Joakim Noah could try to do. Noah is making excuses for losing, hating a city, a player, etc… is just a sign of his own lack of maturity and inability to handle losing.
    Go Cavs!

It’s a stretch to present this as a mark of class or character, which is not to say that Lebron is or isn’t classy. That’s another topic. This is precisely what you’d expect most anyone, classy or not, to say about Chicago–it’s a great city. Cleveland, on the other hand…

Sorry, it’s not about jealousy; it’s about the fact that the guy is a tool and likes to be known as a tool. Remember last year? Even his own teammates hated him.

LeBron is a BIG BABY!! Of course he loves Chicago. Who wouldn’t? It’s the best city ever! Get ‘em Joakim!

G-$, Are you serious?! Get ‘em Joakim? Get him what? Some water? A snack? A pillow for all the days of rest he’ll get after sweeping the Bulls?

Another NBA story that nobody seems to care about.
