Mike Miller might also want to play for the Magic

Knicks forward Tracy McGrady has made it fairly clear that he wouldn’t mind playing for his former team next season. After Wednesday night’s Wizards-Magic tilt, Wizards forward Mike Miller admitted to Andrew Melnick of Howard the Dunk that he would love to return to his former team:

“I would love to,” Miller said. “Look at what they have. For a shooter that is a dream come true. It would be exciting to go in there. Not only do they have a big guy who they have a chance to double, but they have shooters around the horn. It would be fun a experience for sure.”

Miller is currently best known as a great shooter who is strangely hesitant to shoot and fancies himself a point forward. In Orlando’s system, Miller could get more open looks and go back to basing his game around what he does best — shoot the basketball. JJ Redick and Matt Barnes will likely both be free agents this summer, and the Magic may look at Miller if they fail to re-sign one or both of them. Miller probably won’t end up returning to his former team, but it’s nice to think about such a talented shooter playing for a team that has embraced the three-pointer the way the Magic have.
