Why no love for Mikki Moore...If given the right situation Moore could prove useful. Did you forget Moore led the ENTIRE NBA in FG% just a few years ago with Nets. Deron Williams is much like jason kidd so the gamble could payoff. Moore is a hard worker and his teamates love the guy...besides last I heard you cant teach someone how to be a 7 footer.
here are 16 Reasons Why Mikki Moore should still be in the league and would prove useful to any ball club:
1. Sheldon Williams
2. Jason + Jarron Collins
3. Josh Boone
4. DJ Mbenga
5. erik Dampier...yes he starts but still dead weight!!!
6. Steven Hunter
7. Jamaal magloire
8. Dan gadzuric
9. primo brezec
10. brian cardinal
11. Kyrylo fesenko
12. Sean may
13. Eddy curry
14. Tony battie
15. Ike Diogu
16. sean marks
Clearly with the exception of dampier none of these guys are all that much better than Moore

The jazz know what they're getting with more. he was a jazzman for a time already and the organization likes him. that being said, he'll be pretty far down on the depth chart. he'll essentially be in jarron collin's old position. really, the jazz aren't expecting much.

Could they want him to cover Channing Frye, given that the Suns are their likely playoff opponent? That would make Moore a more understandable choice. They might also want him as an option to possibly at least try to track Dirk or Gasol on the outside if they advance.

Is he the very best choice? I haven't reviewed the field. But can I understand how they might want him as insurance big, who could play a few minutes against reserve centers if you really need it, alongside one of their strong defensive rebounders sometimes instead of always turning to a real young guy? Yeah I can.

His career eFG% is 55% and he has hit 60% the last two seasons. His career TS% is 60% and he has done the same in the playoffs. He doesn't shoot a lot but teams shouldn't expect and usually don't want that.

What he shoots he shoots well. The defense sucks. The offensive rebound is modest and the defensive rebounding is weak but Utah is in pretty good shape on defensive rebounding.
