Everybody hates on Skip but he’s right more than you think. He said Orlando would beat Cleveland in the Eastern Finals last year and everybody laughed at him. Howard may be better right now but he didn’t show up in the finals last year, Duncan has 4 rings and we all know he shows up when it matters. He says LeBron doesn’t make game winning shots, well duh, hes made I think 2 in 7 years while the guy people keep tryin to say hes better than (Kobe) has hit 7 this year alone. He said before this NFL season that the Cowboys would be a better team without T.O. and win the NFC East, and everybody said he was crazy. They did just that and won a playoff game for the first time since 1996. He’s not as crazy as everybody says he is.

Lupica got crammed into Dave Kingman’s locker once, maybe he needs reminding of that. Bayless certainly needs to be crammed in a locker.

The jury is still out on Dwight Howard. In the two games the Magic lost to the Cavs this year, Shaq totally neutralized Howard, with LeBron mopping up what was left.
Cavs are rolling without their 1st team and 2nd team center; both Shaq and Z will be back, which, when added to the other Cavs bigs – Hickson, Varejao, Powe and Jamison – gives the Cavs 36 fouls to put on Dwight.
We’ll have to see how this unfolds in the playoffs.

I’m sorry fiveiron, but you lost all credibility in suggesting Bayless is a “good writer”. He’s a hack and a bum using his antics to try to hold onto a job.

Most people never “got in the trenches.” Then again, most people know how to spell “wipe” and “blogger.” Duncan is better than Howard, and Lupica and Bayless are both good writers.

Howard shut down Duncan? As far we know that bulk of meat only put up 9 points, isn’t that so? So who shut down who? By the way, stop comparing Howard and the Admiral – frankly there is absolutely no comparison to be made at all. D-Rob in his third season put up 4.49 BPG and 23.2 PPG and later on an almost unreachable quadruple double. Howard hasn’t won anything so far like his mentor Patrick Ewing period. Furthermore the Admiral speaks educated ENGLISH not the mumbo-jumbo dialect this new generation of illiterate NBA ball players articulate.

Back 10 or 20 years ago there was this guy (Mike Lupica?). Maybe that was his name. Anyhow, he was the ultimate punky looking geek who thought cuz he wrote about sports that he knew sports. I would class Bayless with that guy. There’s another skinny football analyst who looks like “sherman” in that cartoon with the dog. “Sherman and I set the wayback machine for 1866.” Remember him? Anyhow. What I am tryin’ to say is these 3 guys are WORLD class geeks. Talking about sports of all things. They should be talking about men’s figure skating. More their speed I think.
