... also, who the hell cares if sports journalists and bloggers think Lebron won't go to the Knicks. What matters is what Lebron thinks, and no one seems to know exactly what he is thinking. Therefore, it seems that all the speculation about him going or staying is just that--speculation. Either Lebron refused to sign an extension with CLeveland simply to keep management and ownership on their toes and keep them improving the team--OR--he truly wants to test the waters of free agency, which would mean the Knicks have to at least be in a a position to bring him in. Donnie Walsh has provided that. Now it's just a matter of what Lebron wants to do and how Cleveland finishes the season. And please lets stop acting as if his application for a number change proves anything. He could simply be preparing for the POSSIBILITY that he comes back to Cleveland next season.

How is a Johnson/Bosh combo on the Knicks only a 7 seed??? Thats a better combo than the Hawks have right now, yet the hawks are far better than a 7 seed type team in the east. You can't honestly think that little of Wil Chandler and Gallinari--and you are completely discounting the possibility of other moves the Knicks might make to add to the roster, an the fact that they will have another big expiring contract in Eddy Curry, which could be huge trade bait this summer or into next season, or if not, will open up another huge chuck of change to go after FAs in 2011--which coincidentally includes hometown boy Carmelo Anthony. Any way you slice it, the Knicks are in a great position right now, yet everyone seems to want to shoot down what they are trying to do. Tell me, what was the other option?? Trying to win a championship while in salary cap hell, with Steph Marbury, Zach Randolph and Jamal Crawford?? C'mon now. We've already seen how that worked for the Knicks
