Although I agree with most of your post, Jay, this part is incorrect:
Keep in mind, ALL people of anglo origin and North African are considered white not italian american, polish american, etc. People of color – Black, Asian, African, Latino, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, etc. far outnumber that “overwhelming majority you speak of.
Check the census bureau.

Why should a low misrepresentation of Caucasians and latino’s in basketball depress you? Are you depressed about hockey, swimming, volleyball, sprinting, etc. You are talking in some instances about genetics and the fact that you are looking at a group of people who were “bred” that way.
Also, when speaking of an overwhelming majority, you speak of yourself as Caucasian, latino, or both? Keep in mind, ALL people of anglo origin and North African are considered white not italian american, polish american, etc. People of color – Black, Asian, African, Latino, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, etc. far outnumber that “overwhelming majority you speak of.
Wonder why it’s set up that way?

This is in response to Richard : The talent and athleticism in basketball rests entirely in the African-American race. NBA is the cream of the crop and black people are the best ball players in the world. I am not black, but until a whole bunch of Larry Birds and Steve Nashes come out of NCAA basketball…then White Americans are represented. If I can do double-pump dunk, shoot a three-pointer with a hand in my face, streak down the court like Deron Williams, dish-out 20 assists in one game…I will be in the NBA. African-Americans just did it in the highest possible level of basketball craftiness. Enjoy and just watch them.

What is really depressing is the amazing transparency concerning the lack of or Representation in the NBA among Caucasian Americans!!
It’s to P.C of an issue for weak willed and weak minded sports people to ever take up!!!No wonder why the NBA’s viewership continues to fall every year!!In a country where white people(anglos or latinos)make up the OVERWHELMING majority of the populous it is very discouraging and also very suspicious to have such LOW % of either of the groups I belong to!

Agreed, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson have been major disappointments. It’s really hard to explain why this is. You also wonder how long Tyson Chandler’s career is going to be. In fairness, Trevor Ariza has always been a solid role player who fits in around the creativity and greatness of star players. Houston is lacking that without Yao Ming or Tracy McGrady and Ariza has fought injury issues. I don’t know if it’s fair to call him a disappointment.
