“Shack” is lazy, has been his entire career. During his first week with the Magic they pulled kids out of school and filled the Amway Centre to see and hear “Shack”. One of the kids asked, “what will you do when your contract is up”? “Shack”s” answer, “probably retire”. That’s when I knew the Magic had trouble.

Finally a valid comment…thank goodness for bringing the numbers into it to validate your argument. Anyone comparing Dwight Howard to Shaq needs a brain scan. In the years that come Dwight has a wonderful future it seems, but Shaq has been the most dominant player in the league since Jordan stopped playing. If it wasn’t for him the league would have died after Jordan left.

Yes,Rik Smits as in INDIANA PACERS, yes, I (at one time) was a big Pacer fan (this is during the era of Reggie Miller, Dale and Antonio Davis, Mark Jackson and the big man in the middle “Rick Smits” (The “Flying Dutchman” ) no, he was never considered an “elite” center during his time, but few can argue that he was one of the most “efficient” centers, and definately one of the best free throw shooting centers. Like most centers in the league, guarding shaq is a “full time job’ but lets not forget,the Lakers beat the Pacers in a 7 game series for the champoinship. During that era, history will also show that the pacers were the only team that would split regular season wins against the Bulls during Michael Jordans reign. Rick Smits was a MAJOR factor in getting the Pacers to the playoffs every year.

The other thing that nobody has seemed to mention is that Shaq clearly seems to pace himself throughout the regular season as of late. He is one of the biggest frames in NBA hisory and he isn’t getting any younger, he needs to be ready to go strong for the playoff push. Playing 75 to 82 games at full steam ahead just won’t happen any longer. The cavs will breeze to the playoffs with or without the Diesal, however with the Diesal in playoff mode the cavs are going to be tough to beat.

Hahaha you guys r so off the point. Shaq is better then Howard DUH, but he doesnt have to be such a punk when someone else is called superman. Shaq has made about 1000 nicknames for himself, its bound to happen that someone will be called the same one, one of these days. And you dont hear the creator of the superman getting pissed that shaq stole the name. I love Shaq as a player, but he’s got way to big of an ego.

yo guys cant be serious comparring shaq who gave us 13 straight seasons of 20+ points n 10 + rebounds 2 a guy who didnt get a single dunk 2 damn near the end of game 2 in the finals, i mean lets be honest here the biggest stage(nba finals)is where it counts most where young dwight only averaged 15 i mean lets be 4real here lamar odom was 2 points shy of matching that n he was coming off the bench yea shaq may have gotten sweeped my a great veteran team but his numbers is way better than any series howard would eva have n just 4 the people who says thats all in the past lets not forget he posted 45 on toronto last seanson when they felt it was safe 2 play 1 on 1 with the real super man

Howards been in the league 6 years since 04-05 season
Career avg 17.4 pts 12.6 rebs
Best avg 20.7(07-08) 14.2 rebs (07-08)
Shaq’s first 6 yrs
1st 6 yr avg 27.2 pts 12.4 rebs
Best 1st 6 yrs 29.4(93-94) 13.9 rebs (92-93)
Last year in 33 mins/gm Shaq still put in 17.8 points for Pheonix still better than Howard’s BEST season ever!! Get a clue, if I was Shaq I would be offended at being compared to D Howard as well. Howard is not a shawdow of what Shaq was and still hasn’t passed him.

Your right and that’s the way it is. Shaq doesn’t need me defending him but, D Howard will never be half of what Shaq was, and still can’t match what he is head to head. Just cause dHoward beats up on power forwards inpersonating centers doesn’t mean he’s he’s ready for Shaq dady, who is older and slower, but still way too much for Howard’s skinny butt. Don’t even start about at the peak of their careers sheez Howard gets beat still to this day. To not reconize this just proves you don’t get the game.

What are you 12? Shaq even at this point in has career is better stronger and certainly smarter than this whiner that wants to be known as Superman. How many finals MVP’s does Dwight have? How many rings have been won on his broad shoulders? Shaq daddy is still, even in his decline more of a man and a player than SuperWhiner. How many 60 point nights has Dwight had? You don’t know anything that’s over 5 years ago? Man keep that weak stuff out of here, Shaq is the man, deal with it. Oh and in the two games this year where they went head to head, 2 Cavs (Shaq) wins. I’d love to see your punk azz say any of that to Shaq himself, really I would. Better ask someone.

Cry about shaq all you like he was acquired for one reason to fillup the middle and stop howard from having the kind of game like he had in last years playoffs against Z and to that end so far i’ll say it has worked well.
The cav’s didnt sign shaq to be the dominant center he once was however most teams realize that they still need to double team him IMO there are very few centers in the league now that can play him straight up. This team is much improved from last year and shaq is a big part of that. they’ve won 13 straight without two of their guards. I wont say the cav’s will win it all but right now there isnt a team in the nba that the cav’s cant hold their own against. So let the playoff get here and GO CAV’s
